Barker Group, the Bournemouth-based laundry and dry cleaning Company, experienced unprecedented demand for its cleaning services over the weekend following the hundreds of festive parties that took place across the county in the run up to Christmas. The BBC has reported that last Friday (16th December) was the biggest office party night of this year's festive season.
Staff at the seven Barker Group branches across the south, including those in Bournemouth, Charminster, Boscombe and Poole reported a substantial increase in the number of the items dropped off for cleaning.
Matthew Barker, managing director of the Barker Group, says, "We traditionally see a surge in the number of customers we get dropping off clothing - particularly suits and evening wear - in the days following Christmas staff parties, and this year was no exception. We are expecting the same level of growth after Christmas, and in the run up and immediately following New Year.
