Matthew Barker, the managing director of the Barker Group, will lead a conference in Orlando, Florida next week, where he will discuss the state of the dry cleaning industry in Europe. As the UK's Vice President of the International Dry Cleaning Congress (IDC), Matthew will join delegates and industry leaders from around the world including representatives from Procter & Gamble and Unilever, and suggest that re-invention within the dry cleaning industry is crucial to its future growth. Matthew Barker says, "With the impending G8 summit bringing environmental issues to the fore, I predict that alternative dry cleaning processes which utilise more environmentally friendly technology will be crucial to the continued development of the industry. There is huge potential for growth and re-invention, and I look forward to discussing with delegates how and to what extent countries outside of the UK are planning to adapt in the future."
